These classes are for the serious mosaic student who is ready to knuckle down, work hard and discover how the classical principles of mosaic can be of value in developing your own mosaic voice. During class, we'll be busy learning together. Outside of class, expect the joy and camaraderie that comes from being on a great learning journey together.
Course Registration & Payment
To register for a class held at MKMosaics studio, please click the button below to complete the Registration Form, or call 415-312-8296 for more information. I will attempt to accommodate your choice of dates and work with both our schedules to find a workable time frame for your studies.
To register for classes I teach as a guest artist at another location (such as Institute of Mosaic Art) please contact that specific venue.
A 50% deposit is required to reserve your place in a workshop. The balance is due 30 days before the first meeting. You will be sent a confirmation once the workshop has enough students to be held. Your check will not be cashed until that time.
You may register for the course, pay the deposit, and 30 days prior to the course I will notify you whether there are additional students registered, or if you are the only student taking the course. At that time, if you are the sole student, you may choose to have me refund your deposit, or decide to pay the regular balance with the possibility that you may need to pay the "private" rate difference upon arrival. If additional students register in the final 30 days, you will pay no additional amount.
If a workshop has filled at the time your registration is received, your check will not be cashed. You will be notified and given the opportunity to be placed on a waiting list or refunded. If a place opens, people on the waiting list will be notified in the order they were received.
Workshops that do not meet minimum enrollment may be canceled 30 days prior to the course date.
Tuition and materials fees can be paid either:
- by check to:
2230 A Leavenworth St.
San Francisco, CA 94133
- through Paypal as a Personal Payment, not for Goods and Services
Tuition and materials fees are refundable up to 30 days prior to the start of the class.
MK Mosaics does not grant make up classes for missed classes. In the event of an emergency, or unusual circumstances I will review requests for make ups on a case by case basis
My studio is located at the Hunter’s Point Shipyard Artist Colony called “The Point”
It is in the Bayview area of San Francisco and Map information is located below. There is plenty of free parking and you will check in with a security guard upon arrival. The Hunter’s Point Shipyard is an area being redeveloped by the city, and though safe, is a bit remote. It is not within walking distance to any accommodations. It is accessable by public transportation, but it requires both a train and a bus ride and is somewhat unreliable and inconvenient. For this reason it is recommended that you have a car or make other arrangements.
Parking in SF is a challenge as in any large urban city, however your daily classes begin at 10am (parking meters begin at 9am) and your class ends at 6pm (parking meters end at 6pm) so it is entirely workable. Plus your parking at the Shipyard is entirely free.
There are no restaurants on the Shipyard so you may leave for the hour of lunch or bring your lunch as my studio is equipped with a small refrigerator and microwave. I have drinking water or you are free to bring your own as we do not have drinkable water in our building.
